You have a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the organisation you govern as a board member or chair, so it is expected that you will develop your leadership skills. This workbook is designed to be self-directed and self-paced. While working through the workbook you will be expected to commit to some key actions in developing your leadership skills, and to share your development goals with the board/board chair.

Your role is to help set and support your organisation's culture and values. You need to maintain the right balance between delivering for today and planning for tomorrow.

You have a key role in shaping the organisation you lead, so we expect you to place importance on developing your leadership skills. This series of workbooks consists of 6 modules and is designed to be self-directed and self-paced.
While working through these workbooks you will be expected to commit to some key actions in developing your leadership skills, and to share these development goals with your manager.
Verse is an interactive tool which allows you to work through each section of this self-development guide at your own pace. Each section features a video introduction to give you an overview of what the section will cover.
• Start by clicking ‘View Story’. You can navigate to a specific module by using the red squares along the progress bar at the bottom of the video.
• If you wish to download a module workbook, click on the button for that module in the lower left hand corner of the screen. For example, the first button you will come to is for ‘Getting Started’.
